Pelleting, a core process in the feed and fuel industries, refers to compressing conditioned powdery feed raw materials or powder by a pellet mill and forcing them through ring die holes for agglomeration after water and thermal conditioning. Here is a brief introduction to the pelleting process of the pellet mill.
During operation, the ring die rotates clockwise at a fixed speed driven by the main motor. As the conditioned materials enter the pelleting chamber and move into the working area, the press rollers also spin clockwise under friction. With the rotation of the ring die and rollers, the materials advance faster, and the extrusion pressure and material density rise gradually. When the pressure is sufficient to overcome the friction between materials and the inner wall of die holes, the dense and cohesive materials are pressed into the ring die holes. Driven by continuous rotation, materials are constantly extruded into the holes, forming shaped pellets that are continuously pushed out and cut into pellets by the cutter.
