1. Lubrication System
Check the oil level of the pellet mill's pressure roller shaft, bearings, and gearbox. The oil quality should be clean, free of turbidity and unusual odors. For grease-lubricated parts, ensure the grease is not dried up. Refill with the corresponding type of oil/grease if insufficient.
2. Mechanical Fasteners
Inspect each bolt and nut of the pellet mill's die & machine base, pressure roller bracket, and feed inlet one by one. Tighten any loose parts with a torque wrench to prevent component displacement during operation.
3. Raw Materials & Impurities
Confirm the raw material moisture content: 12%-15% for feed pellet mills, 15%-18% for biomass pellet mills. Excessive moisture may clog die holes, while insufficient moisture can cause pellets to crumble easily.
Sieve the raw materials to remove hard impurities (e.g., metal, stones). Pre-filter with a magnetic separator if available to avoid scratching the pellet mill's die and pressure rollers.
