Normal operation and proper handling of the pellet mill affect pellet quality.
Feed powder particle size: ≤ 2/3 of die hole diameter (screen-passed).
Moisture after conditioning: 15%-18% (uniform moisture = higher pelletizing rate + denser pellets).
Magnetic separator required before pelletizing (prevents die damage and unnecessary losses for the pellet mill).
Core Pelletizing Pressure Points of the Pellet Mill:
Rollers squeeze material into die holes.
Die itself resists material flow through its holes.
Roller pressure combined with formula-induced frictional pressure (prevents material spray from the front of rollers; to feed material into the roller nip effectively, adjust the pellet mill’s variable speed drive or control settings and increase feed rate to thicken the material layer in front of the rollers).
Operator Notes:
Operators should adjust parameters (based on ambient temperature/humidity, powder moisture/size, formula changes, pellet mill wear, and customer requirements) to produce qualified pellet output.
