Common issues usually stem from raw materials or formulas—adjusting formulas works faster than modifying production, which takes longer. If raw materials and formulas are ruled out, check the pellet mill’s internal problems:
Excessive Die Wear: Worn and enlarged screen holes reduce pressure on pellets, lowering formation rate and increasing powder output.
Moisture Imbalance: Too low moisture makes pelleting hard; too high leads to soft, loose pellets.
Machine Aging: Insufficient power and rotational speed fail to generate enough pressing pressure.
Poor Ring Die Quality: Low-quality ring dies with inadequate compression ratio.
Oil Dosage: Check the amount of grease/oil used.
These are the key reasons for pellet forming failure.
